What is your real name? Jeremy Conrad (GM-Naerfi)
What is your official title/position? SME (Subject Matter Expert) for SWG. I should explain this right? *laughs* Basically, I am the resource all the other Game Masters come to for anything Star Wars related, whether it be issues in the game, quests, items etc I work closely with development and customer service as a liaison between the two groups to make sure communication is always at the front. Another function of my job is to know what's in a hotfix or patch and how it will effect Customer Service and the players. I am a little different from the GMs as my first priority is not taking tickets, though I do make sure to take some every day to keep abreast of the issues.
How long have you been working on SWG? I have been working on SWG for almost 2 years.
What profession do you like to play in SWG? My favorite profession to play is smuggler! I have a level 90 elder smuggler. I also started a bounty hunter to go along with the smuggler and I have an entertainer too.
Why do you like that profession? The reason I like smuggler is because of Han Solo in the movies! Smugglers in the old pen and paper Star Wars role-playing game were really fun, and it's a unique profession to Star Wars.
Other than working on the game, what keeps you playing or what is your favorite thing about the game? There are so many systems in the game to create a virtual world from, like the housing system, the community system, the economy, and the trading. This makes it the most in-depth RPG out there in my opinion.
What do you enjoy most about working for SOE? What I enjoy most about working for SOE is being able to help players. I am a player and that's why I came here. I was a player in EverQuest and Star Wars Galaxies in Beta and it just made me want to do more.
What is the oddest request you have had from a player? This does sound strange, but species change requests. Someone who wants to change from a Wookiee to a Human because I think it's weird to see a Wookiee one day become a Human. No MMORPG's can do this, but it is a request we get that I always think is odd!
What do you like to do most in your free time? Go to Disneyland! We are in San Diego, and therefore it's not far from us. When I was young, I'm 29 now, I had a fascination with everything Disney, and I even studied Walt Disney himself. Going to the park and looking at its history, why the park was made, and why certain things were done the way they were, has become a passion of mine.
